Umicore Galvanotechnik GmbH receives AEO certificateUmicore Electroplating receives AEO certificate

Umicore Electroplating received the AEO-F certificate. This certification is performed by the German customs administration and is granted to companies that meet especially high safety standards in dealing with customers in international commerce.

In the course of progressing globalisation and increasing cross-border exchange of goods, security of the international supply chain has gained a special importance. For this reason the world customs organisation developed binding standards for worldwide commerce. Among other things the European Union reacted to this by introducing the AEO certificate. In international business AEO stands for "Authorised Economic Operator". Umicore Electroplating received the highest level of the certificate, the status AEO-F. This requires the compliance to special safety standards.

"We are proud that we could successfully complete the strenuous process", explains Karl Hieber, Administrative Director at Umicore Electroplating. He also thanked all the employees who took part in the process. The advantages of certification were described by Karl Hieber in the following: "With AEO-F status we fulfil the high safety-relevant requirements of customs. At the same time, we receive confirmation that we are an especially reliable and trustworthy partner in the international trade of goods."
